In the wake of WWII, Alton and Lula Schermer founded the Schermer Pecan Company out of their home. Some people said they were nuts - they took it as a compliment. Alton hand-selected the best pecans and Lula handled the packaging and hospitality.

Frank buys Schermer
Frank Wetherbee buys Shermer Pecans and continues Alton and Lula's tradition of excellent quality and customer service.

Frank Wetherbee installs the first solid set irrigation system in the state of Georgia

GA pecans go commercial
The largest commercial pecan planting in Georgia history takes place, some of it on Putney's land.
